New year and new problems. That’s certainly not how many of us pictured 2024 starting, but that seems to be the case. After YouTube lagging, now Facebook Marketplace has apparently been removed.

So, how can you get it back so that you can continue buying and selling into the new year? Well, there seem to be various options.

The sudden disappearance of Facebook Marketplace has left users baffled. The issue seems related to ad blockers, so disabling them could potentially resolve the problem. Other options include reporting the issue and accessing Marketplace through a web browser. However, if your listings breach rules or feature incorrect registration information, your access might be revoked for different reasons.

Explained: Why Has Facebook Marketplace Vanished in 2024?

The Facebook Marketplace subreddit has been filled with several comments basically asking the same thing- where has Facebook Marketplace vanished?

One user u/Stock_Lobster9490 wrote:

“Hi, can someone help me with trying to fix my marketplace? A few days ago I found out that for some reason I don’t have access to it anymore, I live in the Uk, which the marketplace is available in and I’ve only sold legitimate stuff which is allowed under facebooks TOS.”

Another user u/Charlie_Dudd wrote:

“Has the marketplace tab disappeared for anyone else? I can’t find Facebook marketplace on my phone anymore, but it works on my computer. Anyone else have this issue?”

@Meta Good morning. Since last night I have not accessed the Marketplace and the message shown is "Marketplace is not available for you".I would like to point out that there are no ads that violate Facebook rules and that I have not received any reports. Can you help me? @facebook pic.twitter.com/e434dtZD9F

Another user, u/X1_Kokichi72, questioned if they have been banned, writing:

“So I tried to use market place today, and I couldn’t find the shortcut, but ik I have it, so I just searched marketplace in the search bar well turns out I don’t have access. Have I been banned? I just browse it; I never buy or chat. Has this happened to anyone else?”

Multiple comments agreed with these posts and said Marketplace was suddenly removed from their accounts. Others stated they were talking to another person when things went haywire. Some got the following message as well:

“Conversation paused. This person can’t be messaged on Marketplace right now.”

So, people want to know what has happened to the popular buying and selling platform and why they can’t access it anymore.

It looks like Facebook Marketplace is gone, or people aren’t able to access it because of a bug. The solution is to report the issue. But how can you report it if you can’t even access the page?

Just shake your phone on the No Access screen, and it’ll come up with a report. Another option is to go to Help and Support and then specify your issue.

Another solution that’s working for some is accessing Marketplace through a web browser. This is because, for many, the problem is specifically in the app. However, some have reported limitations to this solution.

Apparently, even when accessing through a browser, people aren’t able to sell an item or even reply to someone whose things they want to buy or even ask a question about.

If this hasn’t solved your problem, no need to worry.

Many users think that turning off the ad blocker will put an end to this viral problem. It looks like enabling ad blockers is why this problem exists in the first place.

Also, YouTube watchers recently faced issues with ad blockers. The video-streaming platform was lagging and almost unusable till people uninstalled their ad blockers.

Do note that these solutions will work only if you follow Facebook Marketplace’s rules.

If your listings are illegal or not in line with the rules or if you lied about your age while registering, your access to the platform may have been removed for some other reason.

So, do you need help trying to access Facebook Marketplace? Which solution worked for you?
