BALTIMORE (WBFF) — The human remains found inside a container in Baltimore, two weeks ago, have been identified as a75-year-old woman who'd been missing for months.
Police said the remains are of Versey Spell, who was reported missing in October.
The remains were found a little more than a quarter mile from her home on March 7.
Spell's sister said she suffered from lupus and polio, used a cane to walk, and they had a feeling something wasn’t right after they found someone had broken into her home.
Her cane was in the hallway in a chair so she had nothing to walk with," she said. "They found her keys in the basement and glasses outside in the grass near the steps.Neighbors were shocked to hear someone would do such a heinous thing to an elderly woman.
It’s really sad to hear it’s somebody older and vulnerable who was taken advantage of," one woman said.They said if someone is willing to prey on the elderly and dispose of them, then no one is off limits.
Crime in general is out of control," one man said. "Something needs to be done. Somebody needs to come up with a formidable plan that would stop all of this violence.There have been no arrests. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
