Bantamweight fighters Cory Sandhagen and Chito Vera collided at UFC on ESPN 43. Cory Sandhagen defeated Marlon Vera by a split decision. The judges scored the contest 47-48, 50-45 and 49-46. There are a lot of upset fans about the decision the fight. Most of them saw a clear victory for Sandhagen, but a judge gave the fight to Vera. However, fans also did not like the nature of Sandhagen calling out Merab Dvalishvili for a future fight.

In the post-fight interview with Michael Bisping, Sandhagen stated he was too humble to call for a title shot but wanted to call out someone. He said, “I would feel so slimy if I asked for a title shot before Merab. Merab is an absolute animal, and I respect him a ton. I want that number one spot. I have a line that’s a little embarrassing. Merab, you are hungry. Well, I have got something for you to eat, and it don’t taste good!“

Cory Sandhagen dominated Chito Vera for the majority of the fight. Vera could not find any offence in the first two rounds. Sandhagen showed off his wrestling skills to neutralise Vera. However, Vera attempted to fight back in rounds three, four and five, but Sandhagen’s elusive movements proved too much for Vera.

Is this the greatest callout in UFC history? 😤

Sandhagen will now move into the top five of the Bantamweight division with a victory. Merab has stated that he will not fight Aljamain Sterling, which makes Sandhagen the next fight for Merab. However, the fans were not pleased with the call-out.
