Joe Rogan is undoubtedly the most well-known person in the MMA community. Long time UFC analyst, and commentator is partly responsible for bringing MMA into the mainstream media. He worked relentlessly to promote modern-day mixed martial arts, and now he enjoys his position as the host of one of the most popular podcasts in the whole entire world.

The Joe Rogan Experience is famous for people from all professions coming over and discussing the most bizarre topics without any kind of filter. Rogan’s controversial views often land him in troubling situations, and Rogan blames his dark childhood for everything that is wrong with him.

Rogan opened up about his abusive father in one of his podcast episodes, and what he explained was nothing but disturbing. He said, “My mom and my step-dad are actually very happy, and they’ve been happy since I was seven years old. It’s really weird. All my damage sh*t came from my real father, before I was seven. My real father was crazy, he was like a psychotic person. He beat the f*ck out of my mother, he beat the f*ck out of my cousin. He picked my cousin up by his hair, dude.”

The Sun recently tracked down Rogan’s father, and they asked him to provide his views on Joe’s comments about him. His father said he doesn’t have any regret about starting a new family, and they don’t even talk about his ‘famous son.’

He said, “I don’t have any regrets, I don’t even know what you’re talking about, regrets. I woke up one morning and he was gone when I went to call him, to pick him up. I knew nothing about them leaving. We were separated at the time and he was where he was, in Newark. That’s it.”

He added, “I called and nobody answered the phone. Someone over there told me, ‘Well, they left this morning for California’. The last time I saw him was two days before. I used to have him every weekend. I have a wife, two daughters, four grandchildren. And it’s been 40-plus years. I love what I got. We don’t talk about him, it never even comes up.”
