While having a disappointing start to the season, the Russell Wilson and Nathaniel Hackett-led Denver Broncos have suffered yet again, this time caused by injury, 2-year pro, running back Javonte Williams has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after tearing both his ACL and LCL in the Broncos week four loss against the Raiders.

Williams will now have a long road ahead of him with recovering, but with patience and determination, he will be back on the field as soon as possible. The former UNC Tarheel came into the season with promising hopes of becoming one of the top backs in the league. However, with this injury, Williams will no longer be able to show what he can do on the field for now until he returns from this devastating blow.
As for Denver, yes, they still have Pro Bowl runner Melvin Gordon, but Gordon has struggled as of late as he has fumbled five times in his last five appearances and also dealing with an injury of his own. Also in the running back room of the Broncos is former Viking Mike Boone. Due to Gordon’s lackluster play and a neck injury, Boone played more snaps than Gordon amid Williams going out of the ballgame.
The Broncos have now signed veteran running back Latavius Murray from the New Orleans Saints practice squad to enhance their depth and perhaps create more competition within this position group. Murray started for the Saints this past Sunday in place of the injured Alvin Kamara and did an excellent job running the ball against the Minnesota Vikings, rushing for 57 yards, and a touchdown on 11 carries to go along with an 8-yard reception.
We've signed RB Latavius Murray off the Saints' practice squad and placed RB Javonte Williams and OLB Randy Gregory on IR.

It will be interesting to see if Murray plays this week after such short notice with Denver set to take on the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday Night Football. If Murray indeed plays for a consistent amount of time, it will speak volumes as to how the organization truly feels about Gordon and Boone at this time.
