Eubanks was born on 8 January 1938, in Flint, Michigan, to John Otho Leland Eubanks and Gertrude Eubanks. His family moved to Pasadena, California when he was a child. He went to Pasadena High School and graduated in 1955. He then attended Los Angeles Pierce College, but he dropped out after one semester to pursue a career in radio.

Eubanks started his radio career in 1956 at KACY in Oxnard, California. He quickly rose through the ranks and became one of the most popular disc jockeys in Los Angeles. In 1960, he joined KRLA in Pasadena, where he hosted the overnight show.

Eubanks landed his first radio job at KACY Radio in Oxnard, California in 1956 after college. He was hired by KRLA in Pasadena four years later to host the overnight show and rose through the ranks to host the long-running 6-9 pm evening slot.

In the 1960s, Eubanks organized concerts for the likes of The Beatles and the Rolling Stones. After relocating to Los Angles, he worked with artists like Barry Manilow, The Supremes, Dolly Parton, Bob Dylan, Elton John, and Merle Haggard.

In addition to ‘The Newlywed Game,’ Eubanks served as a host on’ Rhyme and Reason ‘ (1975-76),’ Card Sharks’ (1979-88),’ Dream House’ (1984),’ The Diamond Head Game’ (1975),’ Trivia Trap’ (1984-85), and’ Powerball: The Game Show’ (2000-02).

Eubanks served as a co-host on ‘The Mike Douglas Show’ from 1974 to 1979. His final network game show was the 1993 daytime series ‘ Family Secrets.’ He was later featured as the host or co-host of all five ‘ Most Outrageous Game Show Moments ‘ specials that aired on NBC.

By mostly playing TV hosts and announcers, Eubanks accumulated his share of acting credits. He made his acting debut in’ The Cinnamon Cinder Show’ in 1963. He appeared as the host of The Newlywed Game’ in the 1967 film’ The Graduate.’
